On November 29th, 2022, the EPA released Proposed Interim Decisions (PIDs) for 11 rodenticides, with label changes that, if implemented, will have a major impact on the regulation and enforcement of all current rodenticide uses. This includes such proposals as All PCO rodenticides being classified as Restricted Use Pesticides (RUPs); PPE label requirement for gloves for all products being changed to chemical-resistant gloves; Endangered Species requirements, including mandatory record-keeping of Bulletins obtained from EPA Bulletins Live! Two for each application of any product other than a consumer pre-filled bait station, among other restrictions. Please join us for updates on this PID and how it will impact the regulation of rodenticides in the agricultural, non-agricultural, and structural pest control areas.

The goal of this talk is to help increase general insecticide knowledge while keeping the content at a level that is not intimidating for non-scientists. This talk will cover the broad topics of insecticide classes and modes of action, formulations and what they accomplish, and the safety and symptoms of insecticide exposure. Under the mode of action topic, the talk will overview the basics of insect physiology and the different insecticide groups that target the nervous system of the insect as well as others that affect other processes in insects.
